Maximus...it has been a long time since we've had a resident stud dog at Elfin and it took a very special boy to convince us that he was meant to stay. Because our dogs have the run of the house and we are not set up for 'kennel management' it was more logical for us to simply take our girls to visit a chosen stud dog when their time was right. When I thought about stud dog I thought about marking in the house, accidental litters, howling dog when bitches were in heat...no way! Max changed all that...nickname Mr Mellow, he is the most laidback, polite gentleman dog I have ever had the pleasure to know and he is passing that special temperament on to his pups. He made it easy for us to keep him...look for Maximus' page to be fleshed out soon (as time permits.)

Max finished his HSDAA Jr Championship very quickly earning AOM, BOB, etc at several shows. In HSDAA, dogs must be over 2 to earn a full Championship. They can earn Jr Championships as puppies/young adults but have to return to the ring after 2 to earn two more majors before being granted a certified Championship. This assures that dogs that show promise as puppies will fulfull that promise before becoming HSDAA CH. Max has finally finished that puppy to adult coat transition that involves lots of mats...whew...and now is wearing a truly wash and wear coat that is easy to maintain. | News Flash!! That's Mr. CH Elfin Just In Time!
Max finished his certified Championship with back to back majors at the National Specialty in Virginia Beach on Nov 1, 2009. Now he gets to relax and spend a couple of years growing his adult coat...my good boy.
News Update:
March 2010...Max is currently enjoying a working vacation in St Petersburg, FL at Sedoso Havana Silk Dogs where he has met some lovely lady Silks. He says life is good, the bed is soft, and the company - delightful.
